This session was a long time in the making. Savannah first reached out to me wanting to shoot together in the summer of 2018, but given the fact that she went to school in Florida, Zack lived in Georgia, and I in Kentucky, the logistics proved difficult. But we finally made it happen (and by we, I mean they drove all the way up to Kentucky during one of their school breaks ☺️) at the end of December 2018.
We started the morning before the sun was up, and set off on a hike to the gorge.
Note to all my couples: an early wakeup call for a sunrise session is always worth it! Even though it was cloudy and we didn’t have a clear view of the sun coming up, it painted the sky in the most beautiful cotton candy pinks and blues.
These two were wild in all the best ways. Their free spirited love showed up in every. single. image. Pretty sure there wasn’t even music playing when these dance moves happened.
When I suggested a piggyback ride for a couple shots, Zack hopped up on Savannah’s back without skipping a beat. Screw gender norms, amirite? Needless to say, many giggles proceeded.
Now for my favorite part— the treehouse they stayed in. 😍 Shooting this snuggly part of the session was a dream come true. I pretty much squealed with excitement when Savannah showed me photos of their rental once she booked it.
